Introduction

Yala Peak Climb  & Langtang Valley Trek is one of the best, scenic adventures around the Central Himalayan range. Probably the shortest and most rewarding that one can enjoy the thrills of mountaineering in a short period. Yala Peak at 5,732 m / 18,806 feet high is one of the easiest and non-technical mountains to climb. The whole trip takes less than two weeks, enjoying an amazing wonderful time and experience. Yala Peak is a short mountaineering adventure, suitable for all types of people and age groups.

Where one can enjoy from beginners to veteran trekkers and expert mountaineers, as a practice exercise before planning major expeditions. An ever-exciting journey in the heart of picturesque Langtang Valley surrounded by a series of giant snow-dusted mountains. Yala Peak Climb &  Langtang Valley Trekking is a combination of adventure and culture in the close shade of stunning scenery. Although a lesser peak below 6,000 meters, allows trekkers to enjoy the beautiful wilderness and mountaineering experience.

Without the problem of catching altitude sickness, you will be well- acclimatized on daily walks. As well as spending an extra day at Kyanjin Gompa with hikes to higher view-points, before the climb of Yala Peak. Then heading towards higher hills and valleys, trekking through deep river gorges amidst dense lovely alpine forest.

As the walk progresses reaching a wide beautiful picturesque Langtang Valley at Kyanjin Gompa, a nice settlement encircled by giant peaks. Enjoying refreshing moments at Kyanjin Gompa, then getting ready for the main target and highlight. Leaving the last settlement of Kyanjin Gompa, then towards the wild mountainous country, reaching the heart of Langtang Valley. A great wide valley to enjoy pleasant walks to the base of Yala Peak, setting up overnight camp. Spending a few overnights in a tented camp, and delightful food served by our camping chef and kitchen staff.

Have time for preparations and then climb towards high steep ridges to the top of Yala Peak. The grade of the climb is just ‘F’ means Facial Easy as per French and Swiss Alpine Climbing Classification Systems. For non-technical peaks, however, the climber should be well equipped with Ice Axe, Crampons, and other necessary gear. The climb leads above the moraine of ice and smaller glaciers, as season-wise, sometimes climbing on deep snow. As well as on icy ledges till Yala Peak summit is reached, after a strenuous climb of 3-4 hours. From the top of Yala Peak enjoy the glorious stunning panorama of surrounding snow-capped peaks.

The view includes all of Langtang Himal and towards Jugal Himal range with Dorje Lakpa, and some peaks of Tibet.     Morning departs from the hotel having an early breakfast, for a long exciting drive beyond Kathmandu Valley. Heading due north leaving the warm paddy terraces reaching cooler hills at Dhunche, at 1,950 m. The major and headquarters town of Rasuwa district, where Langtang Himal and its beautiful valley are located. Dhunche town is the entry point of Langtang National Park, from here drive leads on winding downhill to Syabrubesi village for an overnight halt. A moderate size interesting Tamang village, the main tribe of Rasuwa and Langtang Himal region. Syabrubesi village beside Langtang Valley it is also a gateway to various adventure destinations and route to the Nepal and Tibet / China border.

    The true adventure starts, early morning before the break of dawn following the lead Guide, as the walk heads over a glaciated area. Then steep climb follows on a high ridge, as uphill continues countering the ridge line. After some hours of tough strenuous climb reach on top of Yala Peak Summit on good time. Before the first sunlight hits the mountain adding cold chill, on top after a short rest to catch normal breathing. From the summit of Yala Peak enjoy the morning glory facing a breathtaking panorama of the surrounding Snow Mountains. Overlooking views of Ghengu Liru (Langtang II 6,571 m / 21,560 feet), Langtang Lirung (7,425 m / 23,765 feet).     Includes Chimsedang high ridge with Naya-Kanga 5,846 m or Ganjala Himal with Gangchenpo and Tillman’s beautiful Fluted Peak. The view extends to Jugal Himal towards the east and ends with Dorje Lakpa (6,966 m /22,854 feet), as well as views of the Tibet Mountains across the border.
