Arrival in Kathmandu, pickup to hotel - 1,300m
Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, you will be welcomed by our representative and transferred to your hotel. After checking in, you can rest and recover from your international journey. In the evening, you will receive a brief introduction to the Lhotse expedition, including the upcoming schedule, logistics, and preparation requirements.
Kathmandu day Sightseeing - 1,300m
Today is dedicated to exploring the cultural and historical highlights of Kathmandu. Depending on the schedule, you may visit important UNESCO World Heritage Sites, ancient temples, monasteries, and stupas while experiencing the unique atmosphere of the Kathmandu Valley. The day also provides an opportunity to purchase or organize any last-minute personal items and climbing equipment before heading into the mountains
Expedition Preparation and Briefing - 1,300 m
Today is the official expedition preparation and briefing day. Our expedition leaders will provide detailed information about the Lhotse route, climbing strategy, acclimatization, weather, safety procedures, emergency protocols, communications, and high-altitude practices. Your personal climbing equipment will be checked, and any remaining administrative and logistical preparations will be completed before the team departs for Lukla
Fly From Kathmandu to Lukla 30 Min trek to Phakding 2,610 m- 03 hrs
An early morning flight takes you from Kathmandu to Lukla, the gateway to the Everest and Lhotse region. After landing at Lukla, you will meet the trekking crew and begin walking through the Dudh Koshi Valley. The trail passes through beautiful mountain scenery, small Sherpa settlements, and forested landscapes before reaching Phakding. This relatively short first trekking day allows your body to begin adapting to the increasing altitude
Trek to Namche 3,450m - 07 hrs
After breakfast, you continue trekking along the Dudh Koshi River toward Namche Bazaar. The route crosses several suspension bridges decorated with colorful prayer flags before entering Sagarmatha National Park. The trail gradually climbs through pine and rhododendron forests before a final sustained ascent brings you to Namche Bazaar, the main commercial and acclimatization center of the Khumbu region
Rest day in Namche - 3,450m
Today is an important acclimatization day in Namche Bazaar. Rather than remaining completely inactive, you will take a gradual hike to a nearby viewpoint or toward the Everest View Hotel, offering spectacular views of Everest, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, Thamserku, and other Himalayan peaks. The afternoon is reserved for rest, hydration, equipment checks, and preparation for the higher elevations ahead
Trek to Tengboche 3,900m - 06 hrs
The trail leaves Namche Bazaar and follows a scenic ridge offering impressive views of Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, and Thamserku. After descending toward the Dudh Koshi River, the route climbs through beautiful rhododendron and pine forests before reaching Tengboche. The village is famous for its historic Buddhist monastery and spectacular mountain setting, making it one of the highlights of the Khumbu trek
Trek to Dingboche 4,410m - 06 hrs
Today you descend through the forest before crossing the Imja Khola and continuing toward Pangboche. As you gain elevation, the landscape gradually becomes drier and more alpine, with fewer trees and increasingly dramatic mountain views. The trail continues through the Imja Valley toward Dingboche, an important acclimatization stop before entering the higher elevations of the Everest and Lhotse region
Rest day in Dingboche 4,410m -Hike to Chhukhung 4,700m - 05 hrs
Today is another important acclimatization day in Dingboche. You will take a gradual hike toward Chhukhung at approximately 4,700m, allowing your body to gain valuable exposure to higher altitude while returning to Dingboche to sleep at a lower elevation. The hike provides impressive views of Island Peak, Ama Dablam, Lhotse, and the surrounding Himalayan peaks. The remainder of the day is dedicated to rest, hydration, and expedition preparation
Trek to Lobuche 4,900m - 06 hrs
The trail continues gradually upward from Dingboche toward the high alpine landscape surrounding the Khumbu Glacier. After passing through Dughla, you climb toward the memorial area dedicated to climbers and mountaineers who lost their lives in the Himalayas. From the memorials, the trail follows the lateral moraine toward Lobuche, where the thin air and rugged terrain mark the beginning of the true high-altitude environment
Trek to GorakShep 5,170m - 04 hrs ,Hike to Everest Base camp 5364m - 04 - hrs
Today is a challenging and memorable day as you trek from Lobuche to Gorak Shep and continue toward Everest Base Camp. The route crosses rugged glacial terrain and follows the Khumbu Glacier toward Base Camp, with spectacular views of the surrounding peaks and ice formations. After spending time at Everest Base Camp, you return to Gorak Shep for the night and prepare for the following day's hike to Kala Patthar
Hike to Kala Patthar 5,556m - 03 hrs
You begin early today with a hike toward Kala Patthar, one of the best viewpoints in the Everest region. From the high viewpoint, you can enjoy breathtaking sunrise panoramas of Mount Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Pumori, Ama Dablam, and the surrounding Himalayan range. After enjoying the views, you descend to the lower settlement and spend the remainder of the day resting and preparing for the transition into the expedition phase
Trek to Everest Base Camp -3hrs.
Today you return to Everest Base Camp, which will serve as the main operational center for the Lhotse expedition. Upon arrival, the expedition team will organize tents, climbing equipment, oxygen systems, communication equipment, food supplies, and other essential logistics. A detailed climbing briefing will also be conducted, covering the upcoming rotations, safety procedures, acclimatization strategy, and summit plan
Days 14–45: Lhotse Summit Period – 5,364 m to 8,516 m
From Day 14 to Day 45, the team begins the main Lhotse expedition from Everest Base Camp at 5,364m. This period includes acclimatization rotations, rest and recovery days, climbing through the higher camps, technical preparation, route assessment, and final summit preparation. The summit attempt to Lhotse at 8,516m will be made during a suitable weather window, with the exact schedule depending on weather, route conditions, acclimatization, and the team's health and safety. After the summit attempt, the team returns to Everest Base Camp and prepares for the descent
Trek Back to Pheriche 4,200m - 06 hrs
The return journey begins with a descent from the high-altitude Base Camp area toward Pheriche. The trail passes through the rugged landscape of the upper Khumbu Valley, and the lower elevation provides noticeably better oxygen levels and an opportunity for the body to recover. After approximately six hours of trekking
Trek Back to Namche 3,450m - 07 hrs
Today you continue descending through the Khumbu Valley, passing through familiar Sherpa villages and beautiful mountain scenery. The trail leads through Pangboche and Tengboche before following the Dudh Koshi Valley toward Namche Bazaar. After approximately seven hours of trekking, you reach Namche, where you can enjoy the comfort of a lower altitude and celebrate the completion of the major climbing phase
Rest day in Namche 3,450m - 08 hrs
Today is a well-deserved rest and recovery day in Namche Bazaar. You can explore the lively Sherpa market town, visit local cafes and shops, or simply relax and enjoy views of the surrounding mountains. The expedition team will also organize equipment and prepare for the final trek to Lukla
Trek back to Lukla 2,810m - 07 hrs
Your final trekking day takes you from Namche Bazaar back toward Lukla. The trail follows the Dudh Koshi River and crosses several suspension bridges while passing through the villages and forests of the lower Khumbu region. After approximately six to seven hours of walking, you arrive in Lukla, where you spend your final evening in the mountains with the trekking and expedition team
Fly from Lukla to Kathmandu 1,300m - 30 Min
After breakfast, you take a scheduled flight from Lukla to Kathmandu, subject to weather and airport operating conditions. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, our representative will transfer you to your hotel. The remainder of the day is free for rest, relaxation, shopping, or celebrating the completion of your Lhotse expedition.
Rest and Recovery in Kathmandu – 1,300 m
Today is reserved for recovery after the expedition. You can relax at your hotel, enjoy a massage, explore Kathmandu, or simply take time to recover from the demanding weeks in the mountains. The day also provides additional flexibility in case of delays during the return journey from Lukla
Leisure and Contingency Day in Kathmandu – 1,300 m
Your final full day in Nepal is kept flexible for sightseeing, shopping, cultural activities, or relaxation. It also serves as an important contingency day in case the Lukla-Kathmandu flight or mountain schedule has been affected by weather or other unforeseen circumstances. A farewell dinner can be arranged with the expedition team to celebrate your Lhotse adventure
Final Departure from Kathmandu – 1,300 m
Today marks the official conclusion of your 53-day Lhotse Expedition. Depending on your international flight schedule, our representative will transfer you from your hotel to Tribhuvan International Airport for your onward journey. We hope you depart Nepal with unforgettable memories of the Himalayas, the Sherpa communities, and your extraordinary journey to the world's fourth-highest mountain
