Introduction

RP Adventures presents Langtang Valley and Gosainkunda Lake Trekking as one of the most magnificent adventures. The nearest mountain range from Kathmandu Valley allows you to enjoy views of the Langtang Himal on a clear, fine day. Langtang Valley and Gosainkunda Trekking is a great combination of visiting both scenic sides of the Langtang Himal range. The first part of the adventure takes you to the picturesque Langtang Valley, where the lovely Kyanjin Gompa settlement is located.

The walk takes you from the charming traditional Tamang village of Syabrubesi, following an interesting overland journey from Kathmandu. Heading into higher hills and valleys, you enter a river gorge blanketed by dense forests of rhododendrons and pine trees. In springtime, the area is vibrant and lively with wildflowers in seasonal bloom, especially the various colors and species of rhododendrons that create a magical experience akin to walking through a natural garden.

The walk follows through several nice settlements: Lama Hotel, Ghode Tabla, and Langtang with Mundu villages. Where tree lines drop for alpine short bushes on reaching a wide, beautiful Langtang Valley. Enjoy the grand scenery by staying an extra day at Kyanjin Gompa for acclimatization with scenic hikes to viewpoints. Kyanjin Gompa and Langtang Valley are famous for the high ridges of Kyanjin and Tserko-Ri, a good climb for a spectacular panorama.

Overlooking the close views of Langtang Ri and Langtang Lirung, the main peaks within the valley, with an array of snow peaks. After a wonderful moment at Langtang Valley and the lovely Kyanjin Gompa, the adventure continues toward our next high destination. We reach the holy site of Gosainkunda, a glacial lake revered as sacred by Hindus.

During the monsoon time of August, a great religious festival takes place at Gosainkunda, and thousands of pilgrims visit. For worship of Lord Shiva, one of the main gods in the Hindu religion and the creator of Gosainkunda lakes. The devotees take a bath and a holy dip; the belief is that it cleanses the sins of a hundred lifetimes. Enjoying time at the holy site of Gosainkunda, the highest spot for overnight stops. Facing grand views of Annapurna, Manaslu, Ganesh, and Langtang Himal, the adventure continues toward Gosainkunda Pass.

Also called Lauribina La, the highest point of the adventure, after a short steep climb, there is a long descent toward the Helambu area. Upon reaching the charming villages of Kutumsang and Gul Bhanjyang, the walk continues further up to Chisapani. Located above the eastern rim of the Kathmandu Valley, it offers a fabulous high ridge and a valley with stunning views of sunrise and sunset.

From Chisapani, with an excellent panorama of the Central and Eastern Himalayan ranges, the walk slowly completes, reaching Sundarijal. Situated east of Kathmandu city and the valley, from here it is a short drive to Kathmandu. Thus concluding the marvelous adventure of Langtang Valley and Gosainkunda Trekking with the great services of RP Adventures.
