You can start the trek not too far from Kathmandu, Nepal’s capital. It is about a 6-hour drive by jeep, which is the best way to travel.

The Manaslu Circuit Trek is located in a remote area, but there are places to stay along the way called teahouses. You don’t need to bring a tent or food because you can find everything you need there. This makes the trek easier and cheaper.

Manaslu Restricted Permit Fee

  • In the Autumn(Sep-Nov) season, it will cost: 100$ for the first seven days then 15$ for each additional day
  • In Winter, Spring, and Summer it will cost: 75$ for the first seven days then 10$ for each additional day

Manaslu Conservation Area Permit Fee

  • For SAARC nationals it will cost: NRs.1000 per person
  • For other nationals it will cost: NRs. 3000 per person

Annapurna Conservation Area Permit Fee (ACAP): [UPDATED]

  • For SAARC nationals it will cost: NRs. 1000 per person
  • For other nationals it will cost: NRs. 3000 per person

Note: If you decide to explore the Tsum Valley as a side-trip then you need to get another permit called Tsum Valley Permit. It will cost you 35$ per person for one week.

If you choose Tsum Valley as a side trip, then you need to add one more permit – the Tsum Valley permit. It will cost USD 35 per person for one week. Similarly, if you choose to continue Annapurna Circuit Trek or Annapurna Base Camp Trek you need to get the TIMS CARD. It will cost you 10$ per person.

Manaslu Circuit Trek In Peak Season

Spring Season(March to May)

Spring season which spans from March to May is considered as the peak season in Nepal due to favorable weather conditions. In fact, this season is also known as the best time to trek for the Manaslu Circuit Trek. A clear view of the sky and landscape becomes alive due to the blossom of colorful rhododendron flowers. You can expect greenery everywhere on the trail path.

Autumn Season (September to November)

Monsoon(June to August)

Monsoon season spans from June to August where the region receives the maximum rainfall. Due to the heavy rainfall trekkers during this period become more challenging as trails may become impassable due to landslides or swollen rivers. Also, the cloudy sky and the frequent rainfall may interrupt the trekkers more the maximum view of the towering peaks.

Even though there are some sorts of challenges while trekking in monsoon, it is still possible to trek. The trail paths are peaceful and less number of visitors make it easier to find the space in the tea house and lodge. While trekking during this season we suggest you carry all the clothing and equipment waterproof. Also, make sure to protect yourself from leeches and mosquitoes while trekking in the monsoon seasons.

Winter Season (December to February)

Winter spans from December to February when the Manaslu Circuit Trek transforms into a beautiful landscape and scenic winter wonderland. Trekkers can feel an enchanting experience amid snowy landscape and crispy mountain air. Trekking in the winter is possible but presents a different challenge like cold temperatures, snow-covered trails, and limited accessibility in the higher altitude.

The temperature ranges from -5 to 10 degrees Celsius during the daytime whereas at night and early morning, the temperature significantly drops below -10 degrees Celsius or even lower. Even though trekking in the winter is extremely challenging with the right gear and the equipment is still possible. You can find the peaceful trail in the month of winter as well if the weather becomes clear you can see the magic view of the mountains and surroundings.
