Introduction

If you’ve been dreaming of trekking in the Annapurna region without compromising on comfort, this one’s for you. The Annapurna Luxury Trek combines the raw beauty of the Himalayas with handpicked accommodations and thoughtful service—giving you the mountains on your terms.

You’ll walk through Gurung and Magar villages that have welcomed travelers for generations, trek beneath rhododendron canopies, and wake up to views of snow-draped peaks. But at the end of each day, instead of a basic teahouse, you’ll return to warm lodges with proper beds, hot showers, and meals that actually taste good.

What Makes This Trek Different

This isn’t just another Annapurna circuit. We’ve designed this route for travelers who want a genuine mountain experience but prefer a bit more comfort along the way. You’ll still earn your views—there are uphills, suspension bridges, and forest trails—but you won’t be roughing it.

The trek passes through traditional villages where life moves slowly. You’ll meet locals who still farm terraced fields by hand, visit Buddhist monasteries tucked into hillsides, and hear stories from communities that have lived beneath these peaks for centuries.

We also care about how tourism affects these places. That’s why we work with locally owned lodges, hire guides from the region, and encourage trekking practices that respect both the environment and the people who call it home.

The Route (In Brief)

We’ve kept this itinerary straightforward so you know what to expect.

Your journey begins the moment you land at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu. Our team will meet you and take you to your hotel. After settling in, you’ll get a full briefing on the trek ahead. The next day, we’ll tour some of Kathmandu’s most iconic sites—temples, stupas, and centuries-old squares.

On day three, you’ll catch an early flight to Pokhara (about 30 minutes in the air). Once there, you’ll boat across Fewa Lake, have lunch, then drive to Birethanti, where your trek officially begins. You’ll spend the night at a comfortable lodge.

From Birethanti, the trail leads uphill to Ghandruk, one of the most culturally rich villages in the region. You’ll continue trekking through Landruk and Dhampus over the following days, staying in well-kept mountain lodges with full meals and cozy rooms.

After your final night in Dhampus, you’ll trek down to Phedi and drive back to Pokhara. You’ll have time to explore the lakeside, grab a coffee, or shop for souvenirs. The next morning, you’ll fly back to Kathmandu, where you can rest or do some last-minute sightseeing. On your final day, we’ll take you to the airport for your departure.

If you’d like to extend your trip or adjust the itinerary, just let us know. We’re happy to customize.

How Hard Is It, Really?

Let’s be honest—this trek isn’t a walk in the park, but it’s also not a mountaineering expedition.

The difficulty comes down to two things: the terrain and the altitude. You’ll be walking uphill and downhill on uneven trails for about 5–6 hours each day. Some sections are steep, but we build in plenty of breaks so you can catch your breath and enjoy the scenery.

As for altitude, the highest point is Ghandruk at 2,012 meters. That’s high enough to feel the thin air if you’re coming from sea level, but it’s not extreme. We’ve paced the itinerary to give your body time to adjust, so altitude sickness is rarely an issue.

If you can handle a few hours of walking and have a reasonable level of fitness, you’ll be fine. We’ve guided plenty of first-time trekkers through this route without any problems.

When Should You Go?

Spring and autumn are the sweet spots.

Spring (March to May) brings warmer weather and blooming rhododendrons. The trails are vibrant, and visibility is usually excellent.

Autumn (September to November) offers crisp air, clear skies, and stable weather—ideal trekking conditions. This is the busiest season, but for good reason.

You can trek in winter or monsoon, but we generally don’t recommend it. Winter (December–February) brings snow and cold temperatures that can make trails slippery. Monsoon (June–August) means heavy rain, cloud cover, and leeches. Not ideal.

For the best experience, plan your trip between March and May or September and November.
