Salleri is a small town situated in the Solukhumbu District in the east of Nepal. Salleri has an altitude of around 2,390 meters (7,841 feet) above sea level, and it is the administrative headquarters of Solukhumbu District. Although not as famous as other nearby towns like Lukla and Namche Bazaar, Salleri holds value as the center point for trekkers and travelers visiting the Everest region.
Salleri itself may not be located directly on the main trekking routes to Everest Base Camp, but it serves as a starting point for treks to the little-known trails and remote villages in the area. Trekkers use Salleri as a resting point before getting to Dudh Koshi Valley, the lower Everest region, or alternative routes to the popular spots, such as Gokyo Lakes and Three Passes Trek.
With regard to facilities, Salleri has basic amenities like guest houses, teahouses, small shops, and food outlets meant to serve travelers who are passing through the town. Accommodation varies from budget lodges to more comfortable guesthouses where trekkers can have a place to recharge and relax while enjoying their journey.
