The walk follows through farm villages of great and interesting cultures past Chame, the major town of the Manang area. As the trek continues, we reach the beautiful Manang Valley at Pisang village and then towards our main destination.

After leaving the popular route of the Annapurna Circuit, the trail ascends to higher terrain above the Manang Valley. The adventure leads to a steep climb after leaving the Manang areas and then on top of Thorang-La Pass.

From the high Thorang-La Pass, enjoy mind-blowing views of the snow-covered mountains that encircle the top. After a glorious panorama, heed downhill towards Mustang district to Muktinath, revered as a holy pilgrimage site.

On completing the main goal and highlights, walk down the Kaligandaki River Valley to Jomsom. • What types of transport do we use to reach the starting point of trek and climb?

We use jeep or similar four wheels drives, the best for mountain rough roads, depending upon the group size. As well on trip cost, for smaller group on sharing basis with other trekkers.
  • How far has the motor road been constructed?

The motor or jeep tracks have reached the main Manang village in recent years. However, some sections of the road are not good due to occasional rockfalls and landslides. The best option is to drive up to Dharapani village in Manang, as per the above itinerary. This allows trekkers to cover the distance on time while enjoying walking, observing local cultures, and taking in beautiful views.
  • Do we carry our own climbing equipment, or does the company provide it?

All trekkers and climbers need to hire, buy, or bring their own climbing gear, such as ice axes, climbing boots, carabiners (both locked and unlocked), crampons, as well as sleeping bags and down jackets. Personal clothing and items for treks and climbs should be brought by the individual. The company will provide equipment such as jumars, ascenders, and main or fixed ropes. On request, RP Adventures will send you a list of the required trekking and climbing gear. Some items can also be bought or hired in Kathmandu if it's too difficult to carry them from your home country.
